The Civi Group is collaborating with a prominent family-owned contractor in Northern Boston, renowned for their projects in bridge, highway, transit, railroad, and marine construction, to hire an Estimator specializing in heavy civil projects.

In this role, the Estimator will be responsible for daily estimating tasks for construction projects. This includes performing quantity take-offs, cost management, communication with construction teams and subcontractors, preparing RFPs, and analyzing bids.

The position also requires conducting field take-offs, frequent interactions with construction teams and subcontractors, and participating in RFP preparation and bid analysis.

Compensation:


  • Salary: Up to approximately $150K based on experience
  • Benefits: Includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company matching, and the opportunity for performancebased bonuses.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate effectively with project team members.
  • Interpret plans and identify construction materials for bidding purposes, with a focus on heavy civil projects.
  • Manage project scoping, clarification, and pricing efforts.
  • Maintain project lists and vendor database.
  • Generate estimates through quantity takeoffs and subcontractor/vendor quotes.
  • Assist with schedules and estimates as required.
  • Attend site visits and prebid meetings.

Skills & Qualification:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Engineering, or Construction Management preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of heavy civil estimating experience, with a track record in highway, bridge, marine, rail, and trackwork projects.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Strong mathematical and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced, team environment.

Pay:
Up to $150,000.00 per year
