Five Elephant is a coffee roastery, bakery, and café located in Gillett Grove, IA.

With a passion for quality, our goal is to produce the best coffees in the world while considering environmental and social impacts.

Through direct trade, we create personal and sustainable partnerships with our producers in South America and Africa.

In addition to our cafés, we also supply our coffee to national and international business customers in the hospitality and corporate sectors - including Michelin-starred restaurants, startups, law firms, medium-sized companies, and international corporations.


Responsibilities:

  • Accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting
  • Invoice verification, preaccounting, and booking
  • Regular account reconciliation and clarification
  • Verification of café cash books
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Support with payment transactions and debt collection
  • Assistance with budgeting
  • Support with report writing
  • Management and support of external service providers (e.g. tax advisors)

Qualifications:

  • Completed commercial training
  • Relevant professional experience in finance and payroll accounting in the eCommerce sector
  • Proficient in DATEV (mandatory)
  • Proficient in Google Docs and MS Office
  • Ideally, knowledge of tax, labor, and social security law
  • Fluent in German, very good written and spoken English
  • Independent, structured, and meticulous work style
  • Resilient, open, and communicative personality
