Accompanying elderly and dependent individuals, recognizing their needs, planning their care, providing professional advice, and carrying out individualized care - this is a diverse and responsible field of work.

As a generalist trained in nursing, you can work in both elderly care and health and nursing or pediatric nursing.

If you choose elderly care, there is the option to specialize in the third year of training and obtain a qualification as an elderly care nurse.

Training content:

Practical training in elderly care in the care facilities of ELW (information available at ))
Practical training in health and nursing as well as pediatric nursing in cooperation with the Klinikum Stuttgart
Theoretical training at the ELW School for Nursing Professions (information available at ))
Knowledge and topics from medicine, gerontology (aging research), pediatrics, psychology, sociology, occupational and physical therapy, legal studies, etc.
Personalized practical instruction throughout the three years of training.

Requirements:

Secondary school diploma or high school diploma
Completion of at least two years of vocational training with a secondary school diploma or completion of at least one year of training as an elderly care assistant or nursing assistant with a secondary school diploma
Recognition of foreign diplomas by the Stuttgart Regional Council with at least a secondary school diploma
B2 language certificate (telc, goethe, oesd).
