- Works with the WLC Leadership Team to ensure the provision of high-quality legal services.
- Coordinates all logistics related to delivery of direct legal service clinics.
- Administers the operation of clinics, including supervision of non-legal work by staff and volunteers.
- Assists in developing substantive, logistical, and administrative processes and forms to ensure successful delivery of direct services to clients.
- Participates in the training of attorney and non-attorney volunteers to ensure WLC capacity to provide direct legal services.
- Performs administrative tasks relating to opening, closing, and tracking the progress of client services, including producing regular reports, tracking workflow, and outcomes.
- Participates in public outreach, including participating in community meetings.
- Collaborates with community stakeholders and service partners, and presents education and workshops as required.
- Provides support communicating with clients and carrying out legal casework as required, under the supervision of qualified attorneys.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Four-year college degree and at least four years of progressive experience delivering and coordinating direct services in a legal environment.
- Prior experience in a legal aid program, pro bono program, or law school clinical environment is preferred.
- Experience in a professional setting demonstrating sensitivity to multi-cultural, low-income, immigrant communities.
- Experience in a professional setting demonstrating knowledge of issues relevant to low-income, immigrant communities, including experience in community outreach, community organization, or advocacy.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish, including basic business writing.

- Prior experience as a legal assistant or paralegal is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with computers and proficient with computer software, including word-processing, case management systems, calendar system and the Internet.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with a variety of people, including low-income clients, law students, attorneys, community organizations and office/agency staff.
- Ability to work under pressure and to handle multiple and changing priorities and tasks.
- Ability to work independently.
- Valid CA driver license.
- Ability to travel to various locations in Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito counties.
- Availability for occasional evening and weekend work.

The Watsonville Law Center (WLC) is a nonprofit legal aid organization providing free legal services to low-income households in Santa Cruz and Monterey counties. WLC works closely with community and health care partners, such as Salud Para La Gente, to address legal and social determinants of health including access to housing, health, employment, immigration justice, and economic equity.
WLC is seeking an organized, motivated, and community-minded Clinic Manager to join our team to assist with client communications and legal services. This position includes complex communication with Spanish-speaking clients and requires Spanish fluency. Prior experience in legal aid, health care, or other direct community service highly preferred.
This position supports the direct services for Watsonville Law Center (WLC) which are provided under the legal supervision of WLC staff attorneys and pro bono attorneys. This position is supervised by the Legal Director. The Clinic Manager helps ensure the delivery of high quality legal services, including managing clinics, coordinating resources to ensure delivery of services and tracking outcomes, and ensuring the WLC team meets program service goals and deadlines. This position is responsible for supervision of non-attorney staff and works with the Legal Director and WLC staff attorneys to ensure compliance with WLC procedures and processes. This position also provides support communicating with clients and carrying out legal casework as required.
