Description

Job Title:
Vice President of Business Development

Reports to:
CEO & COO

Location:
Long Island City, NY

Position Summary:

Kommissary is a social enterprise on a mission to spread joy through food.

We produce and deliver high volumes of meals spanning a diverse array of cuisines to every demographic in New York City.

We are a proud minority owned business that celebrates diversity, equity, and inclusion.

But only 10% of the role is coming up with ideas. We're not looking for a consultant to tell us what to do. We want a doer.

To make your ideas a reality, you will come up with strategies to relentlessly pursue those customers and close them.

Ultimately, your success will be measured by tangible results, not unfinished efforts.

Success in this Role:

Onboarding Period:

As you assume the pivotal role of Vice President of Business Development at Kommissary, your initial focus will be to learn and to listen.

Chances are, you won't think of anything we haven't thought of yet, so you need to soak up information like a sponge.

You will be given leads for existing business development initiatives, so if you're a natural closer, you will be making meaningful contributions very early on.

As you begin to understand our capabilities, the gears will be turning in your head for where the low hanging fruit is for business opportunities.

Sometimes the CEO will just tell you. Sometimes you will brainstorm with him.

3rd Month Goals:

By the end of your third month, you will have gained substantial experience and connections in some of our business lines.

You will be somewhat autonomous in sustaining existing business. Because you will recognize when some contracts are tapering off and which customers need to ramp up our services.

You will maintain constant communication with our existing client base to make sure that we are always their first choice for the services we provide, and you are always actively selling them on new offerings.

Meanwhile, you'll begin spending more time on pursuing significant new business, whether it's within our current capabilities or requires new infrastructure.

As long as the ROI is positive, you're constantly thinking about it with our CEO.

1st Year Goals:

By the end of your first year, you'll have had several major wins across existing clients, and you'll have been an integral part of securing completely new revenue streams that didn't exist before you joined.

And you won't stop, because you're always hungry to keep winning more deals. The more opportunities you capture, the more resources you'll have.

Future Growth:

This role has no limits, and you're expected to bring that attitude with you every day.

Opportunities exist no matter where you're looking, and as someone who consistently finds them and converts them into deals, there's no limit to your success in this role either.

If you're consistently successful, you'll get an entire team beneath you because there isn't enough time in the day to pursue every opportunity you want to.
