What are my responsibilities?

Machinists manufacture precision components from metal or plastic for machines and production systems using "cutting" machining processes, according to technical drawings. - That's the theory. In practice at DESMA, this means the following:

  • You will manufacture a variety of precision components with accuracies in the tenths or hundredths of a millimeter range for our shoe machines
  • You will learn the four main manufacturing processes: milling, turning, drilling, and grinding
  • You will work very precisely and carefully with computer-controlled machine tools
  • You will read technical drawings and create them on the PC using CAD/CAM systems
  • You will create and optimize machining programs for our CNC machines
