Description

Ingredion is hiring a Scientist to work with our Applications teams and support management of the White Marsh Idea Labs facility.

The role will be responsible for managing projects and functional portfolio, developing new ingredients and solutions, publishing technical and go-to-market materials, overseeing preparation of customer prototypes and documentation, and supporting key customer projects.

The Scientist will lead and support multidisciplinary new product development and applied research projects.

As a Scientist, Applications & Custom Solutions, your responsibilities will include:

Developing and furthering Dairy and Dairy Alternatives strategy working with global and regional teams to identify and bring new ingredients to market. Identify current gaps and develop new capabilities and expertise.
Develop relationships with customers in target markets and work with internal & external resources/partners to deliver formulated solutions and technical information to support customer projects globally.
Working with gotomarket teams to understand project/market needs in growing sectors, define shared work plans, and gain support/input throughout project timelines.
Developing new dairy and dairy alternative concepts leveraging ingredients and processes which can be applied regionally and globally. Using extensive industrial expertise to develop and commercialize new ingredients and technologies.
Investigate and assess new ingredients and technologies available for product development improvements.
Ensuring team designs and conducting appropriate experiments in the laboratory and pilot plant to advance projects to completion.
Developing technical presentations to be presented at organization meetings and trade shows.

Demonstrated handson product development experience and knowledge in Dairy & Dairy Alternative Category Application segment (Yogurt & Fermented Milk products, Cheese, Ice Cream, Frozen Desserts, ReadytoDrink Beverages, and their Plant-Based Alternatives)
Ability to mentor and build capabilities in innovation and new product development to deliver excellence in food formulation.
Ability to inform and influence decisions at all levels in the organization.
Excellent technical skills with the ability to act as a recognized technical lead for the Dairy and Dairy Alternative Category within the Innovation and GotoMarket communities.
Flexible and adaptable, comfortable leading multiple projects concurrently.
Curiosity and creativity with a customerfocused mindset with ability to proactively inspire change.
Analytical and critical thinker with excellent business acumen and strong problemsolving skills.
Ability to engage and build working relationships effectively with diverse stakeholders across functions and levels of the organization.
Experience with SAP, Salesforce, and Formulation Management systems.
