GIZ advises the Federal Foreign Office (AA) in the Department S for Crisis Prevention, Stabilization, Conflict Management and Humanitarian Aid on the development of tailored support approaches, procedures and instruments to support political processes of conflict resolution through project funding in fragile contexts, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.

For this purpose, GIZ's broad implementation expertise in fragile contexts and crisis regions is utilized and several consulting projects with specific technical focuses are bundled under the common umbrella of the _Stabilization Platform_ (SPF).
