Position Overview


The Vice President, IT Infrastructure & Operations is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of all third-party and internally managed IT infrastructure used to support business process and services across the enterprise.

This is achieved through the effective delivery of IT services through the management and orchestration of people, products, providers, and processes.

Additionally, this role has responsibility to oversee Digital Workplace, service ticketing and management, and collaboration tools used across the enterprise.


This position operates as a strategic partner and trusted advisor with leaders across the business to plan and manage the work associated with the launch of new products and the integration of newly acquired businesses.

This role will define IT strategy and represent IT to executives throughout the business.


This position has significant influence across the organization and as a member of the executive IT leadership team, is accountable to the business for the performance of information technology infrastructure and operations.


Essential Duties:


include but are not limited to the following:

  • Establish the mission and vision of the I&O organization to foster a business-oriented culture and mindset driven by continual service improvement techniques.
  • Oversee the development of the I&O service strategy and technical roadmap and ensure its integration with the overall IT and enterprise strategic plans.
  • Lead the development of the annual operating plan for IT infrastructure and operations, delivering the necessary set of initiatives, budget, and staffing plan to support annual business goals.
  • Serve as a member of the IT leadership team, participating in the development of IT's longrange plan and operating model to meet the strategic direction of the business.
  • Participate in the design of IT's performance scorecard and quarterly business review updates, communicating successes and challenges associated with IT's performance.
  • Act as a trusted advisor; build and maintain relationships with other IT leaders and business executives to develop a clear understanding of business needs.
  • Ensure costeffective delivery of IT services to meet business needs and respond with the agility required to address changing business priorities.
  • Lead IT I&O leaders to successfully develop schedules, roadmaps, budgets, risk management plans, and quality goals.
  • Develop and control the annual operating expenditure (OPEX) and capital expenditure (CapEx) budgets for I&O to ensure that it's consistent with the overall strategic objectives of IT and the enterprise.
  • Oversee the research and assessment of external and internal technology capabilities required to achieve desired competitive positioning.
  • Maintain currency on new technologies and platforms, including artificial intelligence (AI) and edge computing, and provide guidance and direction on what emerging technologies should be assimilated, integrated and introduced in I&O to ensure that IT capabilities respond to the needs of the enterprise's business strategy.
  • Champion I&O involvement in the IT organization's innovation efforts and its role in experimenting with new solutions to take advantage of business opportunities.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation, and support of IT systems that fulfill the needs of the business; including the full life cycle of technical architecture, infrastructure engineering, infrastructure operations, and IT service support.
  • Forecast future skill and competency needs to acquire and develop an IT workforce, which requires an appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills, and competencies that balance between growing the agility required to achieve digital business objectives and ensuring that the core IT functions are reliable, stable, and efficient.
  • Drive the adoption and commitment to continual service improvement.
  • Lead the adoption of new techniques and practices, such as Agile and Service Integration and Management (SIAM), to complement the change in focus as the organization's maturity develops.
  • Serve on IT planning and policymaking committees; drive the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure that I&O delivers value to the enterprise.
