Description
The City of South Portland is seeking a Parks Maintainer to join an innovative, proactive and dynamic workforce with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in municipal service in the Parks Department.
High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of post-secondary education in Plant and Soil Technology, Field Turf Management or related field or, alternately, a high school diploma or GED and (3) years of prior work experience in Parks, Greenhouse Operations, Landscape Horticulture, Field Turf Management required.
Qualified applicants must possess a valid Maine Class "B" driver's license or the ability to obtain within the first six (6) months of employment.
State of Maine First Class Landscape Arborists License preferred upon hire, or must have the ability to obtain within the first eighteen (18) months of employment.
State of Maine Commercial Pesticide Applicators License with categories 3A, 3B and 6B also preferred upon hire, yet must have the ability to obtain within the first eighteen (18) months of employment.
