Duties:


You will:

  • Serve as the senior principal contact for EPA responsible for a wide range of complex assignments and projects relative to information security and IT systems.
  • Direct the design and development of policies, procedures, standards, and guidance for all aspects of the program in order to support operational requirements and to meet the mandates of all governing statutes, Executive Orders, and regulations.
  • Provide representative and liaison duties to interagency meetings hosted by the Executive Agent at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA); the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), the National Security Council; the CIO's Information Management Committee, as well as a variety of CUI working and advisory groups.
  • Responsible for a wide range of highly complex assignments pertaining to information in a variety of enterprise IT systems; including the modification of existing or development of new methods and approaches to identify, safeguard, and share CUI.

To qualify for this position, you must have either:

In addition to the basic requirements above, you must meet the following requirements:

To qualify for the GS-14 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-13 level defined as experience interpreting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Regulation and developing compliant CUI Program strategies, policies, procedures, catalog registry, and guidelines; experience in implementing adequate safeguards for Confidential Business Information (CBI); and in identifying and implementing solutions and tools to safeguard CUI, Privacy information, including Sensitive Personally Identifiable Information.

Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of information security principles, methods and practices of national Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) programs to serve as an authority in developing qualitative and quantitative approaches for assessing and improving the effectiveness of organization-wide programs.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness or the improvement of complex management processes sufficient to coordinate organizationwide implementation of CUI strategies to ensure protection of the organization information.
  • Ability to serve as senior expert and consultant to top organizational management officials to advise on integrating the CUI Program with other IT and security programs of equivalent scope and complexity.
