SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the HRD, the HR Manager of the Medical Group, maintains and enhances the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs and practices.

HOURS:
Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5:30PM


Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Human Resources or closely related field, from four-year College or university required.

Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in various facets of Human Resources to include administration of benefits, HRIS maintenance and administrating leave of absence programs.

Certification in Human Resources Management and/or equivalent experience required. Three (3) years management or supervisory experience highly preferred.

Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, experience with organizational/process improvement assessments, preferably in a medical group and/or ambulatory clinic environment.

Experience with employee and union/labor relations, diversity, equity and inclusion programs, performance management, federal and CA state respective employment laws.

Experience in California wage and hour strongly preferred.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
PHR/SPHR preferred.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide expertise and support in Human Resources Administration including policy and procedure development and revision recommendations, employer/employee relations, HR strategy, regulatory compliance, and employment law. Provides guidance on interpretation of policies and procedures.
  • Develop, and conduct staff development programs including training and education. Ensure license and required certifications are appropriate and current.
  • Develop and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale, motivation and engagement. Provide coaching and conflict resolution for managers and employees.
  • Conducts investigations of employee complaints or incidents.
  • Administer benefit programs including timely enrollment, processes unemployment and worker's compensation claims and leave benefits.
  • Lead a team of highly engaged members thru hiring, orienting, performance assessment and management, motivating, training, scheduling, and coaching to meet department goals and ensure effective and efficient department operation.
  • Manage employee performance through updated job descriptions and competencies, timely evaluations, and merit increases as appropriate.
  • Manage an equitable and competitive compensation program. Develop and maintain company salary/wage scale.
  • Ensure provider employee data is accurate in the HRIS system and in related records. Ensure employee files/records are compliant and maintained according to regulatory standards and company policies. Respond to agency surveys.
  • Identify data needed for reports and ensures reports accurately capture and present information appropriate to the audience.
  • Compiles with regulatory/government entities to complete annual OSHA and EEO reports.
  • Assist with HRIS maintenance/payroll. Maintain accurate information in system.
  • Assist HRD with special projects as required for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the H.R. department.
