We are currently looking for a Project Manager to support a public K-12 school district's construction program in San Jose, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the project team in the planning of individual projects.
- Coordinate with school staff and user groups.
- Develop project budgets, develop project scope.
- Coordinate design efforts, participate in design solutions.
- Solicit contractor and vendor quotes and proposals.
- Coordinate with RGMK contract managers for bidding document and contract preparation.
- Oversee bid package development, scope statements, develop project and construction schedules.
- Prepare cost estimates.
- Oversee value engineering process.
- Lead the project team in the construction phase of individual projects.
- Conduct project meetings, oversee preparation of meeting minutes, logs, and project documentation.
- Evaluate contractor progress.
- Evaluate progress payments.
- Evaluate and negotiate change orders.
- Assist in claims resolution.
- Interface with outside agencies.
- Develop submittal log and oversee submittal process.
- Take progress photos.
- Manage contract closeout.
Qualifications:
- BS/BA Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related degree.
- Minimum of 5 years' of recent professional experience in the management of complex construction projects.
- Prior experience with K12 educational facility projects required.
- Multi-Prime delivery method experience highly preferred.
- Experience working through the entire project life cycle.
- Exceptional communication skills required.
- Ability to present data to management in an organized manner.
