The
Leave Administrator coordinates and administers all employee leave programs (e. g., FMLA, personal, sick, disability, military, jury, bereavement) nationally ensuring compliance with applicable company policies, and federal and state/local laws.

Responsibilities:
  • Receives and reviews requests for leaves, including supporting documentation; sends required notifications, forms and letters; and determines leave eligibility. Manages close loop communication process regarding status with all stakeholders.
  • Maintains a database to track the receipt and status of leave requests while maintaining applicable file records for administration. Submits updates to payroll for leave status and Cobra matters.
  • Calculates sick / jury duty pay rates for applicable employees and coordinates with disability or other vendors including State Sponsored leave program administrators to facilitate information on earnings/payments.
  • Tracks continuous, intermittent, paid and unpaid leave time in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for leave requests communicating directly with department managers and employees advising them on appropriate leave processes and policies.
  • Serves as liaison for various internal support departments (payroll, benefits, employee relations, worker's compensation).
  • Identifies and proposes processes to ensure the administration of leave programs is managed in an efficient and effective manner
  • Develops and generates tracking reports to identify and analyze leave data and trends.
  • Ensures compliance of applicable city, state, and federal policies and regulations.
  • Keeps abreast on changes to federal, state and local laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, CFRA, VESSA, etc.) and ensures changes to departmental processes are appropriately implemented.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience.
  • 5+ year's progressive experience in Leave of Absence Administration
  • Certification in Human Resource, Leave, or Benefits field sufficient to demonstrate a mastery in leave related areas.
  • Detailed knowledge of State and Federal leave laws.
  • Ability to work effectively within MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe.
