Duties:


  • Performs routine duties of servicing banquets either by providing for set menu banquets or taking individual orders.
  • This position is basically waiter work, with fewer procedure requirements than those involved in positions in restaurant, cafe or bar operations. Involved in setting up and breaking down banquet settings and replenishing beverages.
  • Receives close supervision and guidance. Complies with proper procedures, methods, dress and hygiene codes.
  • Ability to follow simple oral and written instruction and an understanding of sanitary food and beverage handling techniques and an understanding of food preparation methods of food items.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment:


  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all preemployment checks in accordance with AR 2153, para.
  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federallycontrolled facilities.
  • Must be able to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications:


  • Must meet the state/local age (18 years old) requirement for the serving of alcoholic beverages.
  • No prior training or work experience required.
  • Applicants must be able to follow simple oral and/or written instructions.

PCS Costs

  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.

FWS Allowances and Differentials

  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.

Incentives and Bonuses

  • Incentives will not be paid.

Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances

  • Nonforeign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
