Duties:


  • You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the MISSION SUPPORT, FLT COMPTROLLER, FINANCIAL MGMT, BUDGET DIV, COMUSFL TFORCOM NORVA, NORFOLK, VA.
  • You will prepare and consolidate various budget exhibits, oversee, prepare current year execution and certified obligations.
  • You will perform or advise on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration.
  • You will analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management organization's programs and administrative operations.

  • This is a Financial Management Level II certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction

Qualifications:


GS-13: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:

  • Experience performing and/or advising on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration.
  • Experience formulating and defending budget estimates to support plans, programs and activities required for a major program (e.g. Ship Depot Maintenance).
  • Experience executing a budget for a major program.
  • Experience interpreting new/revised Congressional legislation in order to project the potential impact to the command's budget.

GS-12: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:

  • Experience researching and advising on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration.
  • Experience working on and assisting in the creation of budget estimates required for a major programs.
  • Experience reviewing budgets for shortfalls and incorrect financial points for programs.
  • Experience interpreting new/revised Congressional legislation in order to project the potential impact to the command's budget.
  • Experience working using financial policies set forth by DOD such as Appropriation Law.
