Clinical Interviewer/Assessor for Studies of eating Disorders

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Functioning as clinical collaborator to an active interdisciplinary research team and under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (Kristin Javaras, DPhil, PhD), the Clinical Interviewer will perform semi-structured psychiatric interviews particularly focused on assessing eating disorders, for research purposes.


The Clinical Interviewer is responsible for interviewing and assessing study participants for research focused on eating disorders, including a study to validate a newly developed questionnaire that assesses lifetime history of eating disorders for use in genetic and other research.

Please note that most interviews will likely occur during evening and weekend hours.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for mental health clinicians etc. who are looking to be involved in rigorous, cutting-edge, open science in a time-limited fashion.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Performs diagnostic assessments using semi-structured psychiatric interviews (e.g., Structured Clinical Interview for DSM) for studies on eating disorders.
  • Demonstrates comfort with and ability to implement safety-related and other research procedures.
  • Attends regular consensus meetings.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • BA or BS required; Master's or doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, social work or related field, or MD, preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a research related field required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience of performing psychiatric interviews (e.g., SCID) required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with individuals with eating disorders in a clinical or research context preferred.
