General Description:
Contribute to fire prevention and protection efforts, safeguarding life and property during emergencies. Perform building and equipment inspections, emergency responses, permit issuance, and conduct fire safety reviews. Undertake a range of tasks, including confined space standby, high work fall protection, and sprinkler repairs. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, conduct code and audit reviews, and provide necessary training. This role requires a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and handling emergency situations effectively.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct building and equipment inspections
- Emergency Responses
- Permits issuing/hot work/inspections
- Conduct fire safety reviews
- Confined space standby/Rescue planning
- High work fall protection rescue
- Paperwork and incident reports
- Sprinkler repairs (minor)
- Restock medical kits and spill kits
- Fire extinguisher program and placement
- Code and audit reviews
- Compliance and access training
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- OSHA required medical physical for Hazardous Material technician, respiratory protection
- Clear Criminal Background check prior to hiring
- Computer skills (report completion, spreadsheets, word, outlook)
- Ability to carry 200 pounds for over 100 feet
- Ability to climb a fixed and portable ladder for 20 feet or higher
- Fit tested to required respiratory masks
- Ability to work in wide temperature ranges
- Able to operate in confined spaces with proper PPE
- Maintain TSA clearance
- 3 years' experience in Emergency Services Fire or EMS
- Valid driver's license
- Negative substance abuse test
Education/Training:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Twentyone (21) Years of Age
- Firefighter I
- Pennsylvania or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B)
- Confined Space trained
- Rope Rescue Trained
- IS 100, 200, 700
- High lifts units training (must obtain)
- Forklift Operations (must obtain)
- Hazardous Material Technician (must obtain)
- Current CPR
- Current Bloodborne Pathogen
- HSE background preferred
- Associates in Fire Science or Safety related field preferred
Pay:
$ $30.00 per hour
