What is important?

  • Initiating and accompanying the child's educational processes (e.g. creating opportunities for conversation, providing stimulation for experimentation, observing natural scientific phenomena with the child, learning about different cultures)
  • Educational activities (e.g. observation, recognizing children's needs, providing language support, offering targeted support for individual children)
  • Supporting children's play (e.g. creating and accompanying play situations, picking up and developing play ideas)
  • Caring activities (e.g. helping and supporting with toilet training, dressing)
  • Organizational tasks (e.g. preparing meals with children, participating in celebrations)

For working with children, the following basic competencies are important:

  • Appreciation, empathy, and authenticity towards the child
  • Enjoyment of the profession, commitment
  • Actively approaching and showing genuine interest in the children
  • Punctuality and reliability
