Responsibilities:

Design, architect, and implement Virtual Desktop Infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure
Provide expertise in selecting appropriate Azure services to optimize VDI performance and cost efficiency
Lead the implementation and deployment of Azure VDI solutions according to best practices.
Collaborate with ATR stakeholders to understand business requirements and design scalable Azure VDI solutions.
Create and document VDI architecture based on best practices, considering factors such as scalability, performance, and security.
Deploy and configure Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) environments.
Collaborate with IT teams to integrate VDI solutions with existing systems and applications.
Ensure proper configuration of networking, storage, and security settings for optimal VDI performance.
Implement and manage user profile solutions to provide a consistent and personalized experience for virtual desktop users.
Configure profile storage solutions to optimize performance and user data management.
Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell) to streamline VDI deployment, configuration, and management processes.
Implement automated solutions for scaling virtual desktop environments based on demand.
Monitor and analyze VDI performance metrics to identify and address issues related to latency, responsiveness, and resource utilization.
Implement optimizations to enhance overall virtual desktop performance and user experience.
Implement and manage security controls, access policies, and encryption mechanisms for VDI environments.
Ensure VDI solutions adhere to industry-specific compliance standards and security best practices.
Provide technical support for VDI-related issues, collaborating with helpdesk and support teams.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve VDI incidents promptly.
Create and maintain detailed documentation for VDI configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
Provide training and documentation for IT staff and end-users on VDI best practices.
Plan and execute upgrades for VDI components, including operating systems, virtualization software, and related applications.
Implement patch management strategies to ensure VDI environments are up-to-date and secure.
Stay current on the latest developments in Azure services, virtualization technologies, and industry trends.
Make recommendations for improvements and enhancements to the VDI environment based on emerging technologies.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience (8 years) in designing, implementing, and supporting VDI solutions. Hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD).
Familiarity with virtualization platforms and technologies.
Strong understanding of Azure services, networking, and Windows operating systems.
Proficiency in scripting and automation tools, especially PowerShell.

Relevant certifications such as

Microsoft Certified:
Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty is a plus

Requirements:

U.S Citizenship is required.
Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
This position is currently remote but may require occasional onsite presence.
