**BACKGROUND

The Base Support Wing (SW) is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of all support functions at the Main Operating Base (MOB), including supervision of functions covered by Host Nation Support Agreements.

The Medical Squadron provides emergency and dental care for all military and civilian personnel on base.

The Flight Medical Branch oversees flight and dental care, as well as occupational health. This includes supervision of the Flight Medical Section and Treatment Section. The Dental Section provides dental care for E-3A aircrew, air traffic control, and civilian personnel.

The selected candidate will assist the Dental Officer in providing dental treatments.

**THE ROLE

Attend to dental patients;
Schedule appointments;
Prepare the dental work area;
Assist the Dental Officer in providing appropriate dental treatments;
Educate patients on dental hygiene;
Perform minor dental laboratory work;
Ensure dental equipment is in working order;
Operate dental/xray equipment and perform preventive maintenance and quality control in accordance with regulations;
Record dental diagnoses and maintain accurate health records and files.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 2 years of current experience as a dental specialist/assistant;
Secondary education and basic vocational training as a dental specialist/assistant OR secondary education and basic training for specific taskrelated skills, with 2 years of experience;
Certified knowledge of radiation protection measures for dental Xray activities (in accordance with Host Nation standards or willingness to undergo special training in Host Nation standards);
