South Point is one of the most diverse employers in Germany. Every year, we are looking for over 5,000 apprentices in 50 different professions who want to grow and improve with us.

Starting on September 1st, we are looking for you to join our 2-year apprenticeship program as a trainee in train traffic control (w/m/d) for DB Training GmbH at our location in Duisburg. The vocational school is also located in Duisburg. After that, you will complete a 6-month practical training at DB InfraGO AG. Following this, you will have the opportunity to pursue a 2-year further qualification as a specialist for railway operations at DB Training GmbH.
During the apprenticeship, you will be working in one of the many control centers of the railway (called "signal box") and learn the following tasks: You will observe and control train traffic with technical support, such as screens or display boards, to ensure that trains take the correct route. You will decide when trains should stop, go or overtake. You will operate and adjust switches and light signals, thus influencing train traffic. In addition, you will be in contact with train drivers via radio to inform them of any changes. Your goal is to ensure safe and smooth train traffic.
