The German Railway is one of the most diverse employers in Germany. Every year, we are looking for over 5,000 apprentices in 50 different professions who want to grow and improve with us.

Starting on September 1st, 2024, we are looking for you to join our 3-year apprenticeship program as a Track Builder / Civil Engineering Specialist (m/f/d) for the DB Bahnbau Gruppe GmbH in the Track North division, located in Berlin, Hamburg, Kiel, or Neustrelitz. The vocational school and training workshop are located in Berlin. If you perform well during your apprenticeship, we will support you in further training to become a Master. Until the start of your Master's training, you will work as a skilled track builder and gradually learn the tasks of a Master Track Builder.
What to expect during your apprenticeship:
  • You will work with your team on various construction sites, maintaining our tracks
  • Together, you will work on tracks and switches, inspecting them for any faults and replacing damaged parts
  • You will renew the stones and gravel layers under the tracks - modern machines will make your work easier
  • To ensure a smooth train ride, you will always pay attention to precise measurements
  • During your further training, you will become a specialist in new construction, repairs, and maintenance in the track area, and
