Essential Duties and Responsibilities


The Information System Security Specialist is responsible for supporting all aspects of Program Information Assurance (IA) processes tailored to include minimum qualification standards, fundamental awareness and familiarity to demonstrated competency with specific experience in Cyber Security, Engineering, Test & Evaluation, (T&E) and/or Security Control Assessor (SCA) under a Certification & Accreditation (C&A) and/or Assessment & Authorization (A&A) process.


  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of process artifacts, traceability documents purposed for compliance with Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements.
  • Evaluate security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing up to classified information.
  • Maintain the operational security posture for an information system or program.

Travel

  • This position includes a low level of travel.

Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • High school diploma/GED certificate required.
  • A minimum of four years' practical experience in a Cybersecurity, Engineering, T&E or A&A (formerly C&A) related field.
  • Previous experience with Information Assurance tools such as DISA Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), or Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to prepare reports using collected data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be detailoriented and accurate.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • DoDD /DoD M Baseline Certification Requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE, CAP, or CASP) or Project Management Professional certification required.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently traverse stairs.
  • Sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Reaching, handling, and using equipment, keyboards, and mobile devices.
  • Lifting boxes (files and supplies) up to 20 lbs.
