As a Biological-technical Assistant, also known as BTA, you will delve into the depths of biological substances - whether it be animals, plants, food, or medicine.
You will investigate if lakes and soils are contaminated with pollutants, or if certain fruits and vegetables have been genetically modified.
You will also analyze our food and check for fat content and chemical additives.Your keen eye for the smallest biological details is also in demand in research and development. In the laboratory, you will develop environmentally friendly detergent enzymes, test new medications, and more effective anti-aging creams.
Biological-technical assistants are both detectives and pioneers when it comes to cells, bacteria, and viruses. You will typically coordinate with the laboratory management, but otherwise work independently and responsibly.
To ensure that your laboratory results are accurate and traceable, you will create investigation plans, document your findings in protocols, and analyze them afterwards.
