Description
"Batteries power our world and are ubiquitous. They are the heart of energy storage systems and provide solutions for a variety of potential applications.

At the Helmholtz Institute Münster:

Ion Conduction in Energy Storage (IEK-12), we focus on electrolyte research as a key area for future battery concepts.

Our main research activities include the design, synthesis, characterization, and processing of advanced battery electrolytes and chemistries.

We are located at the Münster branch of the Jülich Research Center and work closely with the University of Münster (WWU) and the RWTH Aachen University.

This allows us to promote joint research and this important future field of electrochemical energy storage.

Your tasks:

Become an active part of a BMBF-funded joint project for the analysis of interfaces in batteries and for expanding the understanding of current battery technologies to develop environmentally friendly and safe batteries of the next generation

Your tasks in detail:

  • Independent implementation and optimization of synthesis procedures for the production and upscaling of polymers and functional layers
  • Material characterization and quality control
  • Design, execution, and evaluation of electrochemical experiments on polymerbased batteries
  • Further development of cell concepts for polymerbased batteries
  • Scientific exchange with international partners and collaboration with local stakeholders
  • Preparation of reports and presentations for project meetings
  • Presentation of activities and results in internal meetings, public presentations, and scientific publications

Your profile:

  • Excellent completed master
