    The Pelvic Health R&D team is one of the most cutting edge groups within Medtronic, defining and executing on technology and architectural strategy using skills that span a variety of domains including Mobile Apps (Android), cloud, data analytics, web services, 2d/3d visualization, machine learning, and interfacing with embedded software for management and control of interconnected medical devices.


    As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be working with motivated, diverse, and knowledgeable development teams to deliver world-class products.

    You will be responsible for leading and coordinating efforts between product engineers, architects and software design and test engineering functions to drive innovation for the next generation of Pelvic Health products, both mobile and cloud based.

    This role requires the ability to work as part of a team to realize complex, innovative, high reliability systems that improve the quality of life of people around the world.

    A Day in the Life

    Work directly with key stakeholders to understand requirements, address business and system issues.

    Convert the business requirements into actionable technical use cases and user stories.

    Oversee and manage the operational aspects of projects and serve as liaison between business, project team, and functional management.


    Responsible for project planning, scope management, and work estimation working with Product Engr, Technology Architect, SW Design and Test Leads.

    Lead engineering teams across geographies using a SAFe agile development process.

    Resolve conflicts in a timely manner to ensure projects stay on track.

    Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle.


    Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.

    Ensures compliance of project to quality system, functional and project deliverables.


    Lead development and management of backlog, prioritization of work, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories along with SW Design and Test Leads.

    Develop and manage the product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities.

    Assesses project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

    Provide Regulatory Support along with Product Engineer, SW Design and Test Leads.


    Must Have:
    Minimum Requirements

    To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume.

    Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering required

    Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

    Nice to Have

    8 to 10 years of managing delivery of advanced applications for mobile platform.

    Good understanding of Continuous Integration environments (Jenkins, Bamboo, ElectricCloud).

    Experience with layered architecture, MVC, Design Patterns

    Experience with iOS and Android platforms.

    Experience with configuration management tools and best practices (GIT, SVN, etc.).

    Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.

    Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, independent, driven individual to meet objectives.

    Ability to multitask and prioritize while managing multiple projects and day to day responsibilities.

    Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.

    Strong attention to detail and an ability to deal with ambiguity.

    This position is eligible for a short-term incentive plan. Learn more about Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP) here.

    The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico. Base pay is based on numerous factors and may vary by job-related knowledge, skills, experience, etc.

    Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
