SUMMARY
**This position is looking for a Medical Claims Representative to join the Self Pay team at our Chelmsford location with a schedule of 8:00a 4:30p Monday

  • Friday. This position could offer a hybrid schedule (three days remote and two days in office) after completing 6 months of training and pending manager approval. This position offers great benefits, endless opportunity of growth, and a generous new hire bonus.**Under general supervision, is responsible for timely and accurate follow up and resolution of all unpaid patient balances. Responds to a high volume of patient calls generated from selfpay statements, analyzes selfpay balances to determine patient responsibility, obtains and enters accurate insurance information, submits services to the insurance carrier, establishes payment plans, processes patient payments, researches all returned mail and prepares noncollectible accounts for the collection agency. Typically reports to Patient Billing Supervisor.

EXPERIENCE/ SKILL

  • Experience typically gained through 23 years experience working with third party billing practices, (experience with physician's billing preferred) required.
  • Proven knowledge of ICD9, CPT4 and HCPCS coding required.
  • Outstanding customer service and excellent communication skills are necessary to interact with third party agents and patients both verbally and in writing required.
  • Knowledge and experience with medical terminology, strong computer skills, attention to detail and problemsolving skills are required.

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g. GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit required.
