Your tasks

As an electronics technician (m/f/d) for automation technology, you will set up highly complex, computer-controlled systems. You ensure that the individual components form an automatically functioning overall system. To do this, you program and test the systems, put them into operation, and maintain them.

Training process

The training period is 3.5 years. The first year takes place at the IHK training center in Neuwied. From the second year onwards, you will rotate through relevant departments at WEIG-Karton, with theoretical and practical modules at the Rhein-Erft-Akademie in Hürth-Knapsack near Cologne. Block lessons of three to five weeks take place there three times a year.
