    Job DescriptionSalary: $72,500 -$75,000

    Phoenix Behavioral Health is seeking a full time (PHP/IOP) MH/SUD therapist Monday - Friday to work onsite 12:30pm to 9:00pm three to four days a week and one or two days from 8:30am to 5:00pm in our Ewing, N.J. office location. Phoenix is currently seeking a licensed therapist to join their dynamic behavioral health team Looking for a clinician who has an LCADC, MH degree and also possess a CCS in NJ to supervise other CDAC/Counselor Interns.


    Position Overview:

    Oversee day to day patient care for identified case load (SUD/MH outpatient service lines PHP, and IOP). Provide individual, group, and family therapy services, coordination of treatment, and referral source outreach. Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, and treatment planning. Attend and actively participate in weekly treatment team meetings, weekly staff meetings, and other meetings or responsibilities as assigned. Strong clinical skills that include use of evidence-based treatments and excellent clinical documentation skills.

    Is punctual and consistent with attendance, timeliness and clinical quality reflected in all documentation requirements, proficient in maintaining structure with facilitating engaging groups on time, individual sessions, and family sessions ongoing.

Demonstrates high professional and ethical standards while working within a team environment to support all clients served.

    Specific Responsibilities:

    Maintains appointed continuous caseload (that modulates) by providing individual, family and group counseling, crisis intervention, as well as education and skills training (PHP, IOP services).

    Additionally:

    • Completes biopsychosocial intake assessments and appropriately determines level of care.


    • Collaboratively develops and updates an individualized treatment plan with the individual that includes all identified problems, goals, and discharge planning.

    • Defines all relevant community sources affecting care and treatment of the client (e.g. legal, family, outside providers.) and communicates with those sources to coordinate care and ensure continuity of car.

    • Update referral sources, primary care doctor/other providers, and family members on patient progress, if/as approved by the individual in services. Ensures releases of information is obtained on and on file for each referent or family member.

    • Utilizes and incorporates evidenced based practices and standardized screening tools into treatment to engage clients in services and facilitate progress in treatment. (CSRRS, PHQ 9, etc)
    • Maintains client electronic health record with required, quality and timely documentation per company and regulatory requirements. Ensures documentation of group note, individual note, case management notes, are timely and updated. Familiarity with DAP Note.
    • Meets ongoing caseload requirements by ensuring strong patient engagement and appropriate level of care justification (Utilization Review) that supports daily billable service requirements.
    • Provides ongoing coverage to groups or takes on additional assignments as needed.
    • Team player, flexible, adaptable, and excited about providing compassionate, quality care.
    • Completes scheduled or urgent assessments as assigned.
    • Follows ASAM criteria and completes NJSAMS.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology or related field and Substance Use Experience. .

    • License to practice independently preferred (CDAC, LCADC,LAC, LPC, LSW, LCSW). Will consider non-licensed clinician with strong experience.
    Must possess a CCS Certificate to supervise CDAC Counselor Interns.

    • At least 2-3 years of experience in a mental health/substance use setting serving culturally diverse populations. Familiar with ASAM criteria (NJSAMS).

      • Ability to demonstrate competency in medical record documentation, specifically DAP group and individual notes to support utilization reviews.

      • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing tasks to meet deadlines and stay organized.

      • Working knowledge of State and Federal statues regarding confidentiality laws and applicable regulations and standards.

      • Knowledge of Electronic Health Records, Microsoft Office 365 and Google platform.
