The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for executing assigned daily tasks throughout the site while upholding GMP, Food Safety standards, and HACCP Critical Control Points.

The incumbent will maintain clear and professional communication with all departments, addressing any issues that arise during their shift.

Key Responsibilities:
The Shipping Supervisor will perform assigned daily quality tasks throughout the site, ensuring compliance with GMP, Food Safety Standards, and HACCP Critical Control Points


Key duties include:

Food Safety: Enforce compliance with all elements of Food Safety within the plant.

HACCP: Receive training in HACCP and demonstrate understanding of Critical Control Points (CCP) for the assigned line.

GMP: Receive training in GMP principles and assist in maintaining line compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices.

Production Requirements: Ensure that all lines operated within the plant meet the required production standard. Oversee the safe production of products while maintaining the quality standards set forth by the Company.

Machine Knowledge: Possess knowledge of proper usage of all plant equipment, including baggers, scales, cartoners, tapers, and other relevant manufacturing equipment. Understand equipment functionality and perform basic troubleshooting when needed.

Training: Ensure satisfactory completion of training for all employees on the shift, covering inspection criteria, cleaning practices, safety equipment operation, case/pouch/carton fabrication, and GMP policies. Be capable of carrying out all duties of the line foreman.

Labor Management: Monitor correct staffing levels in all plant departments, identifying excess personnel for reassignment to the shift coordinator. Seek opportunities to optimize staffing without compromising safety or product quality.

Production Reporting: Ensure timely submission of accurate production reports for finished skid production to the data entry department.

Paperwork: Complete relevant production reporting during the shift. Also, handle accident or incident reports, submitting them to the Business Unit Manager.

Discipline: Issue reprimands to employees violating company guidelines as necessary.

Line Cleanup and Inspection: Oversee the line foreman with assistance from the sanitarian in performing blow-down cleanups, washes, kosher, organic, and 100% allergen cleanups.

Quality Management System: Share any discrepancies with the Quality Management System (QMS) with the supervisor or quality manager. This includes but is not limited to HACCP programs, Allergen Programs, Sanitation Procedures, GMP findings, Foreign Material Findings, and HOLD procedures.

General: This position is fast-paced and requires basic math and reasoning skills. The shipping supervisor must be flexible in the hours and days worked, being available as needed for inter-company work or weekend shifts as deemed necessary by the Company.


Required and Preferred Qualifications
:

Required:


  • Strong knowledge of food processing/packaging operations.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
  • Solid technical, mechanical, and financial knowledge.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Demonstrated people and team leadership abilities.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and people management/development skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Background in Maintenance, Engineering, or other technical fields.

Preferred:


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Engineering, or a manufacturingrelated field.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in the food manufacturing industry or equivalent military experience.
  • Experience in both Union and Nonunion production environments.
