Position Summary:


The intern supports the administration and training staff of Office of Child and Youth Protection (OPCYP) in the practical implementation of the Diocesan commitment to promoting and ensuring the protection of all children and creating a safe environment for children and young people to prevent their physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect.

This position will also receive training in the areas of facilitation, evaluation, business administration.

Additionally, the individual will participate in the day-to-day activities of the office as well as updating and producing writing deliverables.


This position spends the work week in the Chancery offices and, at times, may be required to travel to parishes, schools and other entities throughout the diocese as needed.

This is a non-teleworking position.


Principal Duties:

General Administration

  • Monthly Compliance Reports
  • Reviewing paperwork and opening mail
  • Managing Freshdesk
  • Customer Relations: Phone calls, message return
Training

  • Evaluation of training
  • Participate in a debriefing
  • Assist at liaison training
  • Planning and scheduling safeenvironment training
  • Review programs and curricula

Qualifications:


  • Knowledge/Skills: proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Administrative assistance: Good customer service skills in person and on the phone
  • Education: Completion of High School
