What You'll Be Doing

  • Responsible for collecting on chargedoff loans made by the Credit Union. Provide direct assistance to our Members by working with them to identify the true cause of nonpayment in order to provide personalized options.
  • Essential Job Functions
  • Work on chargedoff loans through inbound/outbound calls, written and electronic correspondence, and other approved methods.
  • Responsible for working specialized queues for defaulted repayment plans
  • Work with our Members and 3rd parties to set up repayment plans, negotiate settlements, reestablish Membership services, and perform account maintenance in order to accurately reflect the approved arrangements.
  • Review chargedoff loans for possible collection agency placement. Partner with team and management to refer accounts for litigation review.
  • Assist management and team with miscellaneous projects and reporting including 1099C tax form filings, monthly audits, and collection agency placements
  • Additional Job Functions
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary and other employment related actions

  • Experience with inbound/outbound phone system preferred
  • Intermediate computer and typing skills
  • Basic skip tracing skills
  • Education/Years of Experience/Certifications
  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous related experience required
  • Previous financial institution or credit union experience preferred
  • Knowledge FDCPA, TCPA and SCRA
