HIRING FLOOR MANAGER FOR NEW UPSCALE ASIAN RESTAURANT.

53 introduces an elevated blend of Asian cuisine with a contemporary edge in a chic lifestyle setting.

Featuring an exquisite marriage of Asian flavors and unique dishes, 53 is a New York restaurant conceived by the Founder Ahmass Fakahany and team behind NYC dining destinations and Wine Spectator Award winners, Marea and Ai Fiori.

The menu is spearheaded by acclaimed Singapore-born Chef Akmal Anuar, who began his culinary journey in his parents' hawker stand in Singapore, led one of Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants (Asia's No. 1) and created some of the top contemporary Asian restaurants in Dubai.


Designed by ICRAVE in the heart of Midtown at 53 W 53rd St., the three-story space features a beautiful modern dining room, bustling by day and glowing by night, as well as an intimate private dining experience all underneath MoMA's new extended wing.

In the spirit of this iconic location, the globally renowned Friedrich Petzel Gallery is collaborating in a curatorial partnership to showcase an exciting rotating installation art program throughout the restaurant.

We are looking for passionate & dedicated Front of House Floor Managers to join the team.

Floor Manager Responsibilities include:

  • Train, develop and motivate all staff (FOH and BOH)
  • Organize, supervise and execute services
  • Lead and engage other management team on operational tasks and strategic direction
  • Deliver superior service and optimize client dining experience on daily, consistent basis
  • Monitor and track key financial targets (revenue, food cost, labor cost, etc.)
  • Communicate collaboratively and effectively across all departments and levels of staff
  • Demonstrate emphasis on driving business while maintaining food and service consistency
  • Respond promptly and accurately to all client matters
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, staff, vendors and all other constituents
  • Comply with all applicable policies, rules and regulations, including but not limited to safety, health, jurisdictional laws, and labor compliance.

Floor Manager Requirements include:

  • Strong background in fullservice dining and knowledge of service standards
  • Exemplary knowledge of wine and spirits
  • Adept with all restaurant technology (POS, purchasing, labor management)
  • Highly organized, efficient, and meticulous with attentiontodetail on all operational matters
  • Ability to communicate openly and effectively with clients and staff
  • Ability to train and motivate all levels of restaurant staff
  • Beverage/Food handler's card may be required according to local and/or state requirements
  • Physical requirements include: ability to lift and carry items up to 35lbs, and to stand, walk up and down stairs, and exert wellpaced mobility for extended period of time
  • Flexible schedule and open availability (fulltime) to meet business needs

Compensation:
$65,000 to $80,000 per year, based on experience
