    Integrity Educational Services is currently seeking three full-time certified Teacher to serve in the self-contained Harbor and Middle School classrooms at the Lighthouse Academy - South Campus

    Integrity Educational Services (IES) is the non-profit educational service provider for Hope Academy of West Michigan and Lighthouse Academy.     The Harbor program is a day treatment program being offered to youth who need therapeutic counseling while attending school. In this program, we partner with Wedgwood Christian Services to provide the counseling services for the students and Lighthouse provides the academic instruction. Lighthouse's academic instruction has a whole child focus with the goal of the student exiting the Harbor program and either attending Lighthouse's community program or returning to their home school district. To teach in these classrooms, the teacher must be Secondary certified in at least one subject area.

    The middle school classroom is held in the Lighthouse community program. Lighthouse utilizes a whole child focus with the middle school students in a self-contained classroom to learn how to be successful in an academic setting and in life To teach in this classroom, the teacher must either be Secondary certified in at least one subject area and/or have an elementary K-5; K-8 all subjects self-contained endorsement.

    GENERAL PURPOSE: To be responsible for providing appropriate education experiences to meet the needs of youth enrolled in all programs. The Teacher is accountable to the Principal and functions as a member of the school team, which consists of classroom teachers, instructional support staff, school social workers, the principal and the administrative assistant. Subscribe to the vision, mission and values of Integrity Educational Services and the applicable academy.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The minimum qualifications needed to perform the essential functions of the job such as education, experience, competencies, knowledge and skills are listed below.

    Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, ability or competence required.

    Education and/or Experience: Teaching degree from an accredited college or university, certification required (or provisional certification with intent to become fully certified). Experience working with emotionally/behaviorally impaired adolescents is preferred.

    Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, parents, and other employees of the organization.

    Mathematic Skills: Ability to do simple computations, calculate percentages, and use a calculator.

    Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Ability to apply verbal de-escalation skills as part of crisis intervention.

    Computer Skills: Knowledge of Google and/or Microsoft applications and/or willingness to learn needed computer skills specific to this position.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Michigan teaching certification with a 6-12 core subject endorsement (DI, EX) preferred but not required. Must meet highly qualified status according to the Michigan Department of Education for the subjects being taught. Candidates who are not currently certified will need to go through an alternative certification program, which IES will pay for, so that the candidate can become certified over time.

    Training: Must participate in and complete annual training, Professional Development, and various other training as deemed appropriate for position.

    Other Qualifications: Must pass criminal history records search, physical and drug screen, if required.
