Job Overview


The Intake Specialist will assist in the development and implementation of programming and procedural standards and corrective action plans to achieve compliance with funding requirements.

The Intake Specialist plays a key role in the organization/ program as they are the bridge that connects the providers and the frontline staff members.

Under the direction of the Intake Supervisor and the Program Manager III, the Intake Coordinator Coordinator has the primary responsibility to oversee the scope of work activities to their allocated program(s).

In addition, the Intake Specialist gathers information from clients to initiate services, determine eligibility, and facilitate appropriate billing allocations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Included but not limited to):

  • Collaborate with other departments or agencies to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations when handling sensitive information;
  • Conduct quality checks on intake documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness;
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, or case conferences to enhance knowledge and skills;
  • Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for the patient prior to their appointments.
  • Conduct followup on all inquiries which have not yet been converted to admissions;
  • Works with the Intake Supervisor and Program Manager to ensure consistent, effective admissions, discharge, and transfers;
  • Maintains statistics indicating customer flow, pending and lost inquiries, denials, and discharges;
  • Conduct daily client appointment reminder notifications;
  • Process insurance claims, submit electronic billing, and follow up on unpaid or denied claims as necessary;
  • Assist with front desk coverage;
  • Records and maintains outcome measure data for internal programs;
  • Organize and file patient records, and other documentation in the appropriate electronic or paper filing system;
  • Delegate tasks to staff effectively to ensure the timeliness of projects and deadlines;
  • Maintains updated programmatic forms, policies, and procedures on the Drive;
  • Demonstrates cultural competence and behaviors consistent with the core values, vision, and mission of the Children's Center;
  • Present a positive image to clientele, visitors, and coworkers.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the allocated program(s)

Education and/or Experience

  • Certified Medical Assistant, or Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Administration, or related field.
  • Familiar with Social Services.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate level PC skills required, including a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, excel, and graphics programs.

Pay:
$ $27.97 per hour
