What to do

  • Design innovative, fully automated testing systems from the ground up, considering cost, lead time, complexity, and test coverage across various disciplines
  • Create test specifications and break down requirements into a detailed execution plan, while also mentoring and advising junior engineers on subsystem implementation
  • Research and select electrical test equipment, such as measurement devices, power supplies, sensors, and I/O devices, to meet testing needs
  • Develop schematics and layouts for industrial electrical control panels
  • Implement and validate reliable safety systems for high voltage and mechanical hazards
  • Troubleshoot and optimize automated processes to minimize cycle time and maximize uptime
  • Use statistical methods (GR&R, Cpk) to characterize and validate equipment
  • Conduct bench testing on electrical components to verify test processes
  • Potential for domestic and international travel, up to 20%

What is required

  • Ability to specify electrical test equipment, including power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power analyzers
  • Proficiency in creating complex machine schematics using EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar software
  • Experience with automation in an industrial or manufacturing setting
