Job Summary:


Responsibilities:

Interacts with students as they matriculate by providing a variety of administrative support and coordination for student process including admissions, registration, financial aid, academic progress, graduation, international education, and course scheduling.

Provides information to students, faculty, and staff regarding related processes and maintains and updates student records. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.

  • 25% Tracks prospective and/or current student status on academic progress or related areas
  • 25% Applies knowledge of programs, procedures, and policies to provide administrative support and assistance in a student services function, escalating more complex decisions to other personnel

Qualifications:


Required Skills:


  • Strong interpersonal skills; must enjoy working with the public, solving problems, and helping others access the University.
  • Excellent ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Proven organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail and accurate entry in a busy environment.
  • Capacity to work independently and exercise good judgment in making decisions.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively as a team member.
  • Ability and enthusiasm to learn and master software systems that support student recruitment, admissions, and enrollment.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with individuals of diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Prior experience working in admissions or student affairs at a community college, college or university
  • Knowledge of the UW-Madison community including academic offerings and student resources.
  • Previous experience using a PeopleSoft student information system (SIS)

Work Schedule:


The position requires availability 8:00 to 4:30 Mondays through Fridays with in-person work on campus Mondays and Wednesdays (all day) and Thursday mornings.

Full Time: 100%

Expected at least 50% in-person work; 50% remote
