Today's society is facing a crucial challenge: the shift from a consumption-oriented to a circular economy.

This challenge is the basis of our mission to develop and implement sustainable and resource-efficient production systems while maintaining economic efficiency.

We pursue this goal by combining in-depth expertise in factory planning with innovative digital tools to realize the potential of sustainable production in the early planning phases.


Our highly interdisciplinary environment at the Chair of Production Systems at the Machine Tool Laboratory WZL of RWTH Aachen University provides us with the necessary tools to strategically shape sustainable production for companies from all industries.

Our team in the Factory Planning department has extensive project experience in all relevant aspects of production systems.

This enables us to answer questions about factory structure planning, assembly planning, and the integration of digital planning processes on a daily basis.

Our close collaboration with manufacturing companies in numerous consulting and research projects ensures the necessary practical orientation.

Efficient planning of innovative assembly systems nowadays requires the use of agile methods.

This not only allows for the optimization of existing assembly systems, but also for the design of circular re-assembly factories.

Our partners, with whom we work together in consulting and research both nationally and internationally, range from deep-tech start-ups to DAX corporations.
