Our client is a prominent offshore entity specializing in oil and gas exploration and production. Their operations span several key offshore regions where they manage complex projects including deep-water drilling and production platforms.

Goleta, CA


COMPENSATION
$52-$62 per hour with significant overtime


SCHEDULE
12 hr days - hitch schedule


Position Overview:

Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot facility process equipment, and accurately complete daily production reports. Identify necessary maintenance work and document it in the maintenance program. Execute shutdowns and isolate equipment for repairs. Keep supervisors updated on operational issues. Adhere to all company, safety, environmental standards, and regulatory requirements, and report any concerns to supervisors.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee oil and gas production operations including routine maintenance to ensure adherence to company standards, environmental and safety regulations, minimizing downtime and operating costs, and maintaining marketable oil and gas production.


Key functions include:

  • Monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing operational parameters (level, flow, temperature, pressure) within the facility.
  • Troubleshooting equipment issues and performing minor repairs to maintain facility operations.
  • Familiarity with process equipment such as pumps, compressors, separators, process heaters, incinerators, tanks, water treatment systems, and gas sweetening and separation processes is essential.
  • Preferred knowledge of gas turbines/cogeneration systems.
  • Testing, calibrating, and maintaining safety instrumentation and equipment.
  • Operating DCS computers in the control room to manage plant processes.
  • Inputting production data into computer systems.
  • Assisting the Lead Operator in all aspects of the maintenance program.
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assisting in managing contractorrelated jobs and conducting prejob safety meetings.
  • Other related duties as required.

Position Specifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of operational experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Typically works 12hour days, with overtime as needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, able to meet deadlines.
  • Mechanical aptitude is a must.
  • Familiar with environmental, safety, and regulatory policies.
  • Required safety and H2S training.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and take direction from supervisors.
  • Capable of working independently without direct supervision.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires manual dexterity for office work, including handling documents and operating standard office equipment.
  • Involves repetitive motions, prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Must interact and communicate professionally with others.
  • Requires ability to distinguish colors, perceive depth, and read various data formats.
  • Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, crawling, and crouching required.
  • Must be able to push, reach, pull, lift, grasp, and carry up to 75 lbs, lift up to 95 lbs to waist level, and lift up to 65 lbs over shoulder height.
  • Navigating uneven terrain, climbing stairs or ladders, and exposure to outdoor weather conditions are frequent requirements.
  • Wearing personal protection equipment weighing between 1025 pounds is necessary.
