Within our Company IT, IT Strategy Realization's (ITSR's) purpose is to lead value-driven outcomes and accelerate how we transform IT.


The Director of IT Investment Management will oversee the strategic planning, budgeting, and allocation of resources for IT investments across IT.

The Director is responsible for optimizing IT investments and ensuring alignment with the highest strategic priorities, while ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives.

This role requires a deep understanding of strategic execution and value realization, portfolio management, financial management and IT.


The Director will manage a team and collaborate with IT senior leaders, IT finance, portfolio managers and strategy leads to maximize value driven outcomes.


Responsibilities include:

IT Investment Management

  • Lead the IT Investment Management capability, including the vision, strategy and roadmap, ensuring value is brought to IT, and our company
  • Lead our Value Realization capability, continuing to mature our vision and adoption of Objective and Key Result (OKR) methodology across IT
  • Lead continuous improvement of the Global IT Quarterly Business Review (QBR) leveraging our OKR methodology and complementary approaches to test we are realizing value/outcomes, in line with our company and IT strategy
  • Empower IT senior leaders to drive focus across IT, and create the conditions to ensure leadership is focused on the right topics and the right conversations for ongoing strategic alignment
  • Foster a standardized operating rhythm across IT in alignment with the Global IT QBR to ensure strategic execution and value realization across IT
  • Partner with IT Finance to support our Long Range Operating Plan (LROP) and budgetary cycles, enabling data driven budget planning for IT
  • Oversee the overall health of the IT portfolio, including business case support, and managing relevant status in partnership with IT Finance

Leadership and Partnership

  • Lead and inspire the Investment Management team to be customer centric, drive best practices, methods, and selfservice tools, working in partnership across IT areas, listening and cocreating
  • Thoughtleader for IT Investment Management, with a digitalfirst mindset that informs, inspires, and partners across the organization
  • Support transformation programs across IT as the Investment Management Lead, from process (re)design through to business adoption and value realization
  • Partners with corporate and IT Finance to support budgetary cycles and capital business case processes across IT
  • Collaborates with IT leadership, IT finance, IT senior leaders, IT portfolio managers and other partners for our IT Investment Management capability, driving a continuous improvement approach
Travel will be required (~10%).


Required Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or a related field.

Required Experience and Skills:


  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in IT Investment Management, with deep understanding of stakeholder needs
  • Minimum of 2 years in a people management role.
  • Proven experience leading IT Investment Management transformation to drive business value and increase operational efficiency
  • Strong understanding of both agile and project management methodologies
  • Experience working in a productcentric organization
  • Experience in developing and implementing value realization methodologies such as OKRs
  • Experience developing IT business cases of varying sizes including costs, benefits, risks and the impacts of capitalization, depreciation, and amortization
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and networking skills to network internally and externally, and work effectively with all organizational levels
  • Manage and develop crossfunctional teams
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills able to effectively communicate complex concepts in simple ways to various stakeholder groups.
  • Resultsoriented, selfdirected, selfmotivated, focused professional with a track record of successfully developing plans and implementing them to drive result

Preferred Experience and Skills:


  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • Knowledge of technology business management (TBM) or similar frameworks,
  • Experience leading teams through navigating fast paced and ambiguous situations
  • Manage data and produce insights from large datasets
