Tasks and Process

As an electronics technician for automation technology, you will analyze functional relationships and process flows of automated systems and design changes or expansions. You will install and adjust electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic drive systems and install measurement, control, and regulation equipment. This includes assembling, configuring, programming, and adjusting sensor systems, operating systems, bus systems, and networks. You will connect the installed components to complex automation systems, which you will integrate into a complete system. After test runs, you will hand over the systems and train future users on how to operate them.

In addition, you will monitor and maintain automation systems and perform maintenance as needed. Using test software and diagnostic systems, you will locate, analyze, and resolve malfunctions. Later on, you will deepen your knowledge and skills in various departments at ZF.
