About the Job

The YMCA Woodmont Gymnastics Center is looking for fun, enthusiastic, and responsible Recreation and Sports Leaders to join our amazing team.

This position is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the gymnastic program that includes planning, development and implementation of all the activities under the guidelines of the YMCA gymnastics Curriculum.

Some of the exciting things you will do as a Gymnastics Recreation & Sports Leader include but are not limited to:

  • Assists in oversight of all the gymnastic program activities, communicating with families and ensuring all equipment and supplies are available.
  • Provides specialized services to members in areas of Gymnastics.
  • Provides gymnastics instruction/or coach to children and/or adults under the direct supervision of the Gymnastics Director, following the philosophy and goals of the YMCA Gymnastics programs.
  • Effectively carries out appropriate lesson plans.
  • Establishes structure and routines for children setting boundaries and behavior guidelines.
  • Responsible for the safety of the children at all times, including understanding and being able to implement emergency procedures as necessary.
  • Attends parent/child events as required.
  • Effectively communicates with parents throughout the program year.

Qualifications:


  • Must be at least 15 years of age. (Work Permit required under 16 years old)
  • Will be required to complete the YMCA Gymnastics Fundamentals Courser and YMCA required training. These courses may be waived by the Gymnastics Director if background and experience is determined to be equivalent.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be physically active to play games and sports with the children. Must be able to pick-up at least 35 pounds. Must have visual acuity to observe all children. Must have the physical ability to meet all prerequisites for YMCA Gymnastics
