Position Description
The City of Signal Hill is looking for a skilled part-time Recreation Specialist focusing on Graphic Design. You'll be working up to 20 hours a week in creating visually appealing content for both digital and print platforms.
To be considered, applicants must present three samples of their design or marketing work.
Example of Duties
- Designing various visual communication materials
- Generating content and engaging with virtual communities through social media
- Coordinating with other departments and city's Communications Officer
- Working with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
- Assisting in office tasks as needed
- Supporting recreation event registrations and special events
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate of Arts degree in related fields
- At least 2 years of experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
- Valid Class C California driver's license
- Desirable: Municipal/government agency experience
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Knowledge of budget principles, community relations, and graphic design
- Physical capabilities for the role
- Ability to supervise and provide guidance to staff
- Capable of handling mathematical and interpersonal communication tasks
