Ear Research Center Dresden (TU Dresden & University Hospital Dresden, ENT Clinic) is seeking a

Research Associate/PhD Candidate:

to be filled on a part-time basis (30 hours per week) starting on March 1st, 2023. The position is initially limited to 36 months.

The salary is based on the collective agreement for public service employees (TV-L) and can be classified in pay grade E13, depending on personal qualifications.

The opportunity for scientific qualification (PhD) is given.

In the innovative project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Clusters4Future SEMECO), a brain-computer interface for the next generation of hearing aids is being developed in cooperation with various partners (in addition to chairs at TU Dresden, especially Prof.

Tobias Reichenbach, University of Erlangen, Chair of Sensory Neuroengineering, as well as Fraunhofer Institute and industrial partners).

Using AI methods, EEG signals will be analyzed and acoustic signals will be controlled to provide real-time support for hearing aid users (hearing aids, cochlear implants) through neurofeedback in challenging listening situations.

Your tasks will include:

Adaptation and implementation of speech tracking paradigms for hearing impairment
Conducting and analyzing experimental EEG studies with hearingimpaired individuals (cochlear implants and hearing aids)
