    DATA ANALYST POSITION AT COMPANY X:

    We are looking for a talented Data Analyst to join our team and play a crucial role in interpreting and analyzing data to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will gather, process, and analyze extensive datasets, extract insights, and present discoveries to stakeholders. This position involves collaborating with different teams to spot trends, patterns, and areas for improvement. The Data Analyst will be instrumental in fostering data-driven decision-making processes within the organization.

    RESPONSIBILITIES OF DATA ANALYST ROLE:

    • Collect, cleanse, and preprocess extensive datasets from various sources such as Powerschool and Aspen.
    • Analyze intricate data sets using statistical techniques and data visualization methodologies.
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to summarize data for different stakeholders, including leadership, staff, and the Board of Directors.
    • Recognize trends, patterns, and connections within data to offer actionable insights.
    • Create and update reports, dashboards, and visualizations to share findings with stakeholders.
    • Work with diverse teams to grasp school-based needs and offer data-driven solutions.
    • Establish data quality assurance processes to maintain data accuracy and reliability.
    • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in data analysis and visualization.
    • Participate in developing and maintaining data models and algorithms.
    • Provide regular reports to various stakeholders, including Chicago Public Schools.

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR DATA ANALYST:

    • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
    • Demonstrated experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role, with 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
    • Proficient in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
    • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data sets and derive meaningful insights.
    • Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent.
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting.
    • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and scripting purposes.
    • Familiarity with statistical methods and techniques like hypothesis testing, regression analysis, etc.
    • Effective communication and presentation abilities to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
    • Detail-oriented with the capability to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Experience handling large-scale datasets and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is advantageous.
    • Certifications in data analysis or related fields (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional) are a plus but not mandatory.
