    The Medical Director, Psychiatry is responsible for leading the psychiatry program, evaluating clinical care, improving quality outcomes, meeting productivity benchmarks, shaping priorities, implementing organizational wide initiatives, following policies and procedures, and advancing the organization's mission and vision.

    The Medical Director will provide the full scope of services that fall under their field of practice/training.

    Coordinate and lead psychiatry providers and clinic functions.

    Provide effective management of psychiatry providers: communicating expectations, providing coaching and feedback, monitoring and managing performance metrics, assessing clinical competencies, providing development opportunities and implementing performance improvement plans.

    Participate in recruiting and selecting psychiatry providers across the system.
    Collaborate and work closely with the Regional Operations Team to ensure alignment of health center goals.

    Provide leadership for our Integrated Care and Consultative Care Models for psychiatry.
    Identify and implement best practices within the field of psychiatry.

    Collaborate with Medical Leadership to ensure patient access to Behavioral Health services and to improve quality of care metrics.

    Collaborate with Behavioral Health Director as a resource for the Behavioral Health Consultants and Integrated Health Home, including case conferences and consultations.

    Continue to develop and refine the psychiatry program at ACCESS.

    Obtain health history and perform physical examinations.
    Perform all duties in conformity with the quality standards and clinical guidelines established by ACCESS.

    Meet Meaningful Use standards which are defined as using certified EHR technology to improve quality, safety, efficiency, and reduce health disparities, engage patients and families in their health care, improve care coordination, improve population and public health; Assure all clinical activities are accomplished according to acceptable guidelines for reimbursement.

    Ensures that patients' and families' needs are met, and clinic policy is followed through.

    Utilizes printed health education materials as appropriate and document all instructions given; while considering an individual varying level of understanding and adjusts level of presentation to ensure the patient is knowledgeable of medical condition and plan of care.

    Ensures patients presenting with greater acuity than what is clinically appropriate within the health center are transferred appropriately.
    Coordinates with health center staff at all levels to ensure patient needs are met.
    Participates in health center huddles and meets scheduled health center times and productivity standards.

    Assures patients are seen in a timely and clinically appropriate manner and involves health center employees including medical assistants and front desk staff in this process.

    Assures care teams properly carry out effective treatment, education and performs clinical tasks in accordance with acceptable policy and procedure.

    Participates in the orientation and training of staff as needed.
    Adheres to Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) regulations.
    Doctor Osteopathy (DO) or Doctor of Medicine (MD) required.
    Completed residency in Psychiatry and Board Certification is required.

    Minimum five (5) years of working experience in the practice of psychiatry and experience in an outpatient setting preferred.

    Intermediate-advanced proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) system; EPIC preferred.
