Scope of Position:
EDF Renewables North America is a market-leading independent power producer and service provider with over 35 years of experience

wind (onshore and offshore), solar photovoltaic, and storage projects; distribution-scale power: solar and storage; asset optimization: technical, operational, and commercial expertise to maximize the performance of generating projects, and onsite solutions, through the Company's PowerFlex affiliate, offering a full suite of onsite energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers: solar, storage, EV charging, energy management systems, and microgrids.

This position, under specific direction from the site manager, or his/her designee, maintains photovoltaic power and energy storage systems.

The scope includes, but not limited to full system installation, commissioning, maintenance, system performance evaluation and troubleshooting of power and energy systems.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform preventative maintenance on utility scale photovoltaic power plants and storage systems.
  • Complete on a daily basis, maintenance logs, work orders, time cards, service reports, and any other required paperwork or computer work for the specific project/assignment.
  • Perform OEM testing, troubleshooting, repairs and upgrades/ revisions to a broad range of equipment in the renewable industry.
  • Monitoring (DAS) Systems, as well as other components of large PV power plants and energy storage systems.
  • Conduct site safety assessments and identify all safety hazards on jobsite, lead daily safety meetings, properly fill out JHA & LOTO documentation.
  • Re-Commission PV systems, including but not limited to; insulation testing (megger testing), I-V curve testing, thermal imagery, torque tests and performance evaluations.
  • Review project plans, specifications & installation instructions to ensure that the project is built according to the approved design and specifications
  • Participate in the 24hr/weekly

Supervision of Others:


  • During certain situations may have to oversee contractors and subcontractors to support mission.

Working Conditions:


  • 15% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment.
  • 85% of time is spent outside of the office visiting vendors' and/or internal customers' sites in additional to attending various meetings. Job requires working in15platforms. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat and safety glasses at all times. Each job site may be different, and must be accessed individually. Repetitive use of legs, arms, hands and fingers. Able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, overtime and night shifts as required. 25% of travel may be required based on needs of company.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years electrical experience
  • Appropriate licensing to work as electrician in the designated area.
  • Working knowledge of solar industry best practices, NEC requirements, and diagnosis/repair of common solar failures.
  • Ability to work well with subcontracted Construction personnel in resolution of issues identified in the field during that phase of a project.
  • NABCEP certification or other component specific solar certifications a plus

Education/Experience:

  • Commercial Photovoltaic Maintenance/Repair: 1 years
  • Handson commercial photovoltaic electrical : 1years
  • High school or equivalent (required)
  • OSHA 10 training
  • Knowledge of electrical code and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to work independently
  • Focused on efficiency and removing labor hours from tasks or projects
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
  • Willing to travel on short notice
  • Experience using a CMMS system for maintenance tracking (SAP Preferred)

  • Good knowledge and skill for troubleshooting of AC / DC high, medium, low voltage and control circuits.
  • Knowledge of indepth testing and troubleshooting of medium voltage and high voltage equipment to include transformers, potential transformers, current transformers, current transducers, breakers, relays, contactors, breakers, motors and inverters.
  • Highly experienced in using and understanding testing and diagnostic equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.)
  • Knowledge in electrical safety and arc flash standards
