Overview:

Responsibilities:


  • Locating and plotting underground gas utilities and pipelines for construction and design.
  • Read and interpret improvement plans and gas underground "asbuilt" construction drawings.
  • Coordinates joint meetings with other utility companies and USA Mark out services; interacts with customers; performs other related duties as assigned or required.
  • Read, comprehend, and interpret utility records and engineering construction plans.
  • Work autonomously as well as coordinate and direct workload in the field.
  • Utilize engineering construction plans to determine conflicts with existing or proposed utilities.
  • Complete detailed accurate field reports documenting findings and utility line locations, associated forms and field sketches, both electronically as well as draft by hand.
  • Operate various locating devices and specialized equipment such as magnetic locators, groundpenetrating radar, and electromagnetic devices to identify underground gas lines. (Which one is best ?)
  • Complete field jobs that require off road driving in remote destinations with limited service and overnight stays based on job locations.
  • Exercise precaution and safety as it relates to the field job sites and traffic operations.

Qualifications:

  • Dry utilities design and construction knowledge is required; gas utilities preferred
  • Underground (UG) utilities locating and surveying experience is required; gas utilities preferred
  • GIS program knowledge and experience is highly preferred
  • GNSS / GPS data collection or land surveying experience highly preferred
  • Comprehension reading asbuilts and construction drawings
  • Pipeline Integrity Assessment knowledge
  • OSHA and/or Gold Shovel certifications are preferred
  • Ability to work outside in varying environmental conditions, including weather conditions such as wet and/or humid environments, extreme cold and/or heat, dusty and noisy work environments
  • Ability to work primarily in the field and occasionally in office, including travel to various project sites driving a commercial or 4x4 motor vehicle (CDL license is not required)
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Must be adaptable and flexible in work direction based on project needs

Salary Range:
$66,000 - $93,600 per year

Work Location:
Onsite 50% in the Pico Rivera office and 50% to fielding projects in the surrounding area

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Hiking in weather conditions occasionally below freezing and over 120 degrees F. Long-term standing and frequent walking in suburban and rural environments with varying terrain, inclines and declines.

Travel:
Up to 50% of the time
