THIS POSITION MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE. THE AMOUNT OF TELEWORK IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE DEPARTMENT AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS BUSINESS NEEDS ARISE.


Under the general supervision of the Information Technology (IT) Manager I, the Information Technology (IT) Associate works as a technical associate in the Enterprise Security Operations Section / Enterprise Desktop Applications Services section, of the Infrastructure Services Division (ISD) within the IT Branch of the Employment Development Department (EDD).

The incumbent serves in support of the organization's enterprise information technology operations, including all associated hardware/software components and the confidential and sensitive data used at EDD.

The incumbent is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and operations of the organization's statewide information technology systems.

  • The incumbent acts as a technical specialist on systems software/hardware projects, and/or on information systems.
  • The incumbent contributes toward the growth of the Information Technology Branch into a customerfocused service organization by following the Branch's established cultural principles and they will also continuously improve communications and relationships with vendors, subordinates, peers, management, and customers.
  • Over time, the incumbent will progress through the ranges of the class, and work will increase in complexity and coordination for larger impact as more experience is gained. An incumbent in Range A should be able to perform tasks with some assistance, an incumbent in Range B should be able to perform tasks with little assistance, and an incumbent who has reached Range C should be able to perform the task independently and assist newer staff in the process as needed.
  • This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.
  • Position exist at EDD's Headquarters office at 800 Capitol Mall, Sacramento, California.
